Although the development and deployment of artificial intelligence can have direct impacts on populations, they are often excluded from the processes of developing AI governance frameworks.
In this article, Karine Gentelet, professor at the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Quebec in Outaouais and Scientific Director, Collaboration with Civil Society at Obvia, advocates for the active involvement of citizens in the development of public policies and other legal frameworks, through democratic mechanisms.
