The Digital Territory of First Nations Quebec-Labrador: Position on Digital and Artificial Intelligence Ethics

This report presents guidelines inspired by best practices in research ethics, designed to support digital development in a way that respects the values of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador. The goal is to establish lasting relationships based on respect and collaboration.

Karine Gentelet, Scientific Director for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Obvia, contributed to the development of the guidelines as a member of the working group.

These guidelines reflect the shared perspectives of the multidisciplinary working group and are offered as tools that can be freely used or adapted to meet specific needs.

This document may also serve as a reference for governments, universities, developers of technologies and artificial intelligence systems, as well as other partners and allies who may draw upon it to support social justice, self-determination, and the sovereignty of First Nations.
