Effective antiretroviral therapies (ART) have significantly improved the life expectancy of people with HIV (PWH). Still, lifelong follow-up, self-management, and adherence to treatment are crucial to control HIV in the long term. Nonadherence to ART leads to poorer health outcomes and increased healthcare costs. Following a living lab approach, this project aims to co-construct with stakeholders an LLM-based unbiased triage solution for the chatbot MARVIN to support PWH in maintaining ART adherence. Through the involvement of PWH, healthcare providers, and community organizations throughout the process, this multidisciplinary project seeks to provide personalized healthcare advice, improve ART adherence, and ensure equitable treatment for all PWH. Their engagement ensures patient-centeredness in developing and implementing human-centered health AI products. This solution will contribute to better health outcomes and resource allocation in the healthcare system.
