Obvia is pleased to welcome Université TÉLUQ, Collège de Maisonneuve, and Cégep André-Laurendeau to its network as institutional partners. They now join twenty other higher education institutions engaged in research on the societal impacts of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

This collaboration will help support researchers in their action-research activities, knowledge mobilization, and engagement with key ecosystem stakeholders on priority issues.

Several researchers from Université TÉLUQ are already active within the OBVIA community as members. Diane-Gabrielle Tremblay, full professor at the School of Administrative Sciences, has notably received funding support for her project studying the use of AI in the workplace and the design of solutions that integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion considerations. Valery Psyché, professor in the Department of Education and co-lead of the Education and Empowerment Axis, has also been involved in several projects and activities of the Observatory.

At Cégep André-Laurendeau, researchers Andréane Sabourin Laflamme and Frédérick Bruneault, both professors of philosophy, are particularly active in the Observatory’s initiatives.

« The arrival of new institutional members in our network marks a significant milestone in our commitment to analyzing and shaping the impacts of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on our society, said Lyse Langlois, Executive Director of OBVIA. We are delighted to strengthen collaboration with their researchers to develop innovative and responsible solutions that will benefit Quebec society as a whole — and beyond ».

OBVIA views these new memberships as a unique opportunity to further consolidate collaboration with the three institutions and their research communities.
