A. Durand is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Université Laval. She is a member of the Institute for Intelligence and Data (IID) at Université Laval and a Mila Associate Academic Member. She specializes in the development of methods that learn through interaction with their environment, such as reinforcement learning and bandit algorithms. She is particularly interested in exploiting these approaches in scientific applications, including healthcare.
